What you can expect from this website, and what we ask of you
Terms and conditions
These terms cover your use of blueskylineroofing.com and the free inspections, estimates and messages that start here. They are not the contract for roofing work. That's a separate written agreement you sign before any work begins, and if the two ever disagree, the signed contract wins.
Last updated on the day this site launched.
The short version
- The site is here to help you understand roofs and reach us. It isn't a contract and it isn't professional advice about your roof.
- The free inspection is free, with no obligation. A real price needs a roofer on your roof, so numbers on this site are examples, not quotes.
- A written estimate is good for the time it says. The signed contract is the only thing that commits either of us to work.
- Our photos and words are ours. Your photos are yours, and we only show them with your permission.
- Warranties on roofing work live in the contract and the warranty document, not on this page.
- California law applies, and we'd rather sort any problem out with a phone call first.
Using this website
By using blueskylineroofing.com you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, the site is still free to read, but please don’t send us a form. We may change the site, or take parts of it down, at any time. We try to keep it accurate and working, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors.
Information, not advice
Everything on this site about roofs, materials, codes, permits, costs and timelines is general information, written from our experience in Los Angeles and the South Bay. It is not advice about your roof. Roofs differ, codes change, and prices move. The only way to know what your roof needs is to have it inspected, which is why we offer that for free. Don’t make a decision about your property on the strength of a web page, ours or anyone else’s.
The free inspection
- It’s free, and there’s no obligation to hire us afterwards.
- We inspect from the roof where it’s safe to walk, and from the ground, the attic and a drone where it isn’t. We decide what’s safe.
- We need access to the property at the agreed time, and we need an adult there or your permission to proceed without one.
- We photograph the roof as part of the inspection. The photos are yours to keep, and we keep a copy for the job file.
- The inspection is a visual check for the purpose of an estimate. It isn’t a certified roof inspection or certification for a sale, a lender or an insurer. That’s a separate paid service with its own written report.
Estimates and prices
Any price, range or figure on this website is an example to help you plan. It is not an offer and we can’t be held to it. A written estimate from us after an inspection is a real price for the work described, valid for the period stated on it, usually thirty days. Even then, nobody is committed to anything until a contract is signed by both of us. If we find something during the work that the estimate didn’t cover, rotten decking under old roofing is the usual one, we stop, show you, and agree any extra cost in writing before continuing.
Forms, calls and texts
- When you send a form, you confirm the details are accurate and that you’re entitled to ask about the property.
- You agree we may call, text or email you about your request, as described in our privacy policy. You can stop at any time.
- A form is not the way to report a roof that’s leaking right now. Call (323) 338 2878. We don’t monitor forms outside office hours and we’re not responsible for damage from a leak reported only by form or email.
- Please don’t use the forms to send anything unlawful, abusive, or unrelated to roofing. We’ll delete it.
Our photos and words
The text, photos, drone footage, logo and design on this site belong to Blue Skyline Roofing or are used with permission. You’re welcome to read, print and share links. You may not copy our photos or text onto another website, into advertising, or into a portfolio that isn’t ours. Photos of customers’ homes appear here with the owners’ permission and may not be reused by anyone else for any purpose.
What you send us
Photos, messages and documents you send us stay yours. By sending them you give us permission to use them to look at your roof, prepare your estimate, do the work and keep the job file. We won’t publish your photos, your name or your address without asking you in writing first, and you can say no.
Roofing work and warranties
Any roofing work we do is governed by the written contract you sign, the manufacturer’s warranty for the materials, and our own written guarantee on the work, all of which you receive before and after the job. Nothing on this website adds to, changes or replaces those documents. Where this site describes a guarantee, a timeline or a practice, it describes what we normally do. The contract says what we’ve agreed to do for you.
Our license and insurance
Blue Skyline Roofing holds California contractor’s license #1131531, classification C39, roofing, and carries the insurance the state requires. You can check our license on the Contractors State License Board website at any time, and we’ll show you our insurance certificate on request. California law gives you specific protections when you hire a licensed contractor, including the right to a written contract and, on home improvement work, a three day right to cancel. We’ll explain those when we give you a contract, and the CSLB explains them on its website.
What we're responsible for
We’re responsible for the roofing work we contract to do, as set out in the contract and the law. For this website, we provide it as it is. To the extent California law allows, we aren’t responsible for loss arising from relying on information on the site, from the site being unavailable, or from a link to another website. Nothing here limits any responsibility the law says we can’t limit, and nothing here limits your rights under a signed contract or under California consumer law.
Other websites
Links to the CSLB, Google, our social media pages and others are provided for convenience. Those sites have their own terms, and we’re not responsible for their content.
California law
These terms are governed by the laws of California. If we ever have a disagreement about this website, we’d like to hear from you first and sort it out on the phone. If that fails, the courts of Los Angeles County will deal with it. Disputes about roofing work are handled as the contract says, which may include the CSLB’s complaint process.
Changes
If we change these terms, the date at the top changes and the new version appears here. Using the site after that means you accept the new terms.
