Our story, one roof at a time
It started with a grandfather who roofed houses across Los Angeles and taught his son the trade on the job, the way it was taught then. The son did the same, and the boy who was carrying bundles up ladders at an age when his friends were at the beach is the man who runs the company now. Fifty years and three generations of the same family, on the same kind of roofs, in the same city.
Blue Skyline Roofing is the third generation's name for what the family has always done. We're a three generation roofing company Los Angeles has trusted for decades under other names, and we chose a new one because Kevin wanted the company he built to stand on its own work, not only his father's. It does. The license is his, the crew is his, and the reviews are for the roofs he's done.

Kevin was raised on job sites and taught by his father and his grandfather, which means he learned roofing the slow way, by doing every part of it. He still does. How long have you been in business?
The company is new, started by Kevin in recent years. The family has been roofing in Los Angeles for more than fifty years across three generations, and the crew came with him. New name, old hands.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. California roofing license #1131531, with a bond on file and insurance that covers your property and our people. The license is linked on every page so you can check it, and we send the insurance certificate on request.
Do you hand any of the work to other companies?
No. We never hand work to another company. Every roof is done by our own crew, the roofer who inspects your roof is on it when the work is done, and the person who answers the phone a year later knows the job.
Who actually comes to my house?
For the inspection, Kevin or one of the lead roofers. For the work, the same lead roofer with his crew, usually four to six people depending on the roof. You'll know their names before they arrive.
Why "Blue Skyline"?
Because a roof's job is to put a clear line between the house and the sky, and because the family wanted a name that was theirs rather than borrowed.
What's the difference between you and a big roofing company?
We're a family owned roofing company Inglewood based and small enough that the owner walks your roof, the crew that quotes it does it, and nobody is paid to sell you anything. The trade off is that we take fewer jobs at a time, so some weeks you'll wait a little longer for a start date. We think that's the right trade.
Where are you based, and how far do you go?
The office is at 400 S La Brea Ave in Inglewood. We work across Inglewood, the South Bay and the Westside, anywhere within about half an hour, and a little further for the right job. Every area we serve is listed.
How do I check a roofing contractor's license?
Go to the state license board's website, type the license number, and look for an active roofing license with a bond and insurance on file. Then ask for the insurance certificate. Do it for us, and do it for everyone else you're considering.
